Red Eyeshadow

Red Eyeshadow ... apply it right and it can be gorgeous.

RED EYESHADOW

Red eyeshadow may be too intimidating for most women and they would rather try on other eyeshadow colors or eyeshadow palettes. It is anything but natural and if you put it the wrong way, you might end up looking like you are going to a Halloween party.

You might never want red eyeshadow to be part of your collection but if you can discover the proper techniques in applying it, you can have gorgeous looking eyes even for an everyday setup.

Must have red eyeshadow

Finding the best red eyeshadow that will match your skin tone and personal taste can be a daunting task. You don’t want to create a commotion by using shimmering red eyeshadow so it would be better to stick to matte finish products.

Mac Cosmetics “Passionate” is a great red eyeshadow that has a mid tone shade. Another one would be Mac’ “Red Brick” which has an orangy red matte texture.

Make Up For Ever’s “Scarlett 99″ is a red that is vibrant and bold. Sephora’s Colorful Mono eyeshadow “Geisha Kiss 80″ is a fantastic red in matte brick red. NARS’ “Grenadines” is a red in a deep garnet matte shade.

How to wear red eyeshadow properly

Base the kind of red eyeshadow you will use with your skin tone and personal style. Women with dark complexion can opt to go for a darker shade of the red eyeshadow. Olive skinned or fair skinned women may prefer to use a lighter red eyeshadow. Maroon is red colored eyeshadow that can work best for anyone.

The trick is to combine the red eyeshadow with other eyeshadow colors or eyeshadow palettes such as black or charcoal. Red would look amazing when combined with two other shades. A light red eyeshadow can be worn with pink, purple, and orange eyeshadow colors or eyeshadow palettes.

If you are planning to use red eyeshadow to create smokey eyes, apply the lightest color like charcoal first on your entire lid and up to your brow bone. Then a darker color which is your red eyeshadow will be applied across the crease. Black or any other dark eyeshadow color will be used on the light of the eye. Blend all colors carefully to achieve the desired smokey eyes.

Red eyeshadow works best with black eye liner. A thicker line would be better to give your eyes more definition. Dust some charcoal color beneath the eye liner.

Other tips

Consider the shape of your eyes before putting on your red eyeshadow. Women with deep set eyes or regular eyes should use a fluffy brush or a small angular brush. A red liner pencil is used to color the crease and to cover almost half of the outer edge of your eyes. Brush your eye’s corners with red and blend it carefully inwards. Dark red eyeshadow is best if you need a dramatic and elegant look. Champagne color can be used to soften your red eyeshadow.

Women with oriental eyes should use a small angular brush to draw the line from the outer edge and working towards the inside of the eyes. A darker red is best to make your eyes appear bigger.

Remember, blending red eyeshadow with two other eyeshadow colors or eyeshadow palettes will bring out the best in your eyes. Have fun playing around with different colors and shades for an irresistible and sophisticated look.
