Blue Eyeshadow

Blue eyeshadow is great for that 'innocent' look.

BLUE EYESHADOW

Blue eyeshadows were the hottest thing during the Victorian period. The bluish eyeshadow palettes or eyeshadow makeup added to the women’s eye lids make them look attractive because it usually signifies weakness and innocence of the heart.

Most women prefer neutral eyeshadow palettes or eyeshadow makeup because they bring out the best in their eyes. It is harder to incorporate bright eyeshadow palettes or eyeshadow makeup like blue eyeshadows into your skin type.

Blue looks great for women who have a fair skin tone. It is also a great eyeshadow palette or eyeshadow makeup for those with brown or gray eyes and those with black or platinum hair color. Blue eyeshadow is not really meant for those with blond hair and blue eyes. Still, you can get away with it during the spring season. But do not overuse your blue eyeshadow because it will just overpower the natural beauty of your eyes.

Blend your blue eyeshadow colors well and you will look fabulous in an instant. There was a time that intense blue eyeshadow was just for supermodels strutting their stuff on the runway or in Vogue’s magazine pages and you would raise a few eye brows if you would wear blue eyeshadow on the streets. That is not the case anymore. By using a professional brush and carefully applying your blue palette, you would brighten your face effortlessly. You can also opt to brush a darker blue eyeshadow to your lashes and then use a brighter color or eyeshadow makeup farther away. This will give you a modern look that is both soft and innocent.

Or, you can apply a pale, iridescent blue eyeshadow onto your lids to create a sun kissed glow on your skin. Add a hint of metallic brow powder to finish it all up. Your skin will instantly liven up and it can give you that glamorous look. Try Yves Saint Laurent Mascara Moire which is the ultimate favourite of beauty experts and makeup artists.

How to apply blue eyeshadows properly

The key to using a blue eyeshadow properly is by applying a light and an intense shade of blue. Use a softer blue all over and then apply a darker eyeshadow up to your crease. Blue eye shadow should not be applied above the crease line because they tend to make your eyes recede. Another great tip to remove the redness from your eyes: use blue eye liner.

Do not use black eye liner. It is way too harsh for your eyes. A more intense shade of blue eyeshadow would be much better. If you have blue eyes, let them sparkle by using blue eye liner. A navy or indigo eyeshadow palette would also be perfect.

If you are using blue eyeshadows, opt for a nude or softer shade for your lips. Just add some gloss to accentuate the intensity of your eyes. Do not use darker lip shades because they will just compete with your blue eyeshadow palette.
